First Mostar comic weekend

I was so happy when I heard the news about a comic weekend in Mostar, Bosnia and Herzegovina. The idea for this comic weekend was born on one of the meeting of comic enthusiasts and lovers, now members of the MOSTRIP organization from Mostar. As a first, this experimental gathering is a result of cooperation of two comic organizations, MOSTRIP comic organization from Mostar and The organization of comic authors and comic fans Deveta dimenzija from Banja Luka.

First Mostar Strip Weekend will be the first event of its kind in
Mostar and Herzegovina. The goal of this event is the promotion and
popularization of comic culture, with an emphasis on the younger generations. The idea of the organizers is to present the comic as a very interesting, colorful, expressive
medium and art. The event is meant to be open and non-profit character
with emphasis on the interaction with visitors through discussions, lectures,
presentation of editions of domestic publishers, as well as exhibitions of original artwork.
As the story is with every comic during the festival, you obtain dedications and drawings of your favorite authors. Youngest visitors of the festival will get free comic books, t-shirts and posters.

10:00 Author’s exhibition and comic marketplace – all day
12:00 – 13:00 (Official start): Presentation of the organization MOSTRIP, presentation of the festival, sponsors, authors and editions, public discussions about the process of comic creation, its potential on the domestic scene, view on comic in the society in our country and abroad. Public discussions are intended as an interaction between the authors and the audience.
13:00 – 19:00 Signing, drawing and meeting with the authors
19:00 – 20:00 Closing of the festival

Mostar is a beautiful city, which now has its comic festival. Be sure to check it on 16th and 17th of December, be a part of history and support a group of enthusiasts trying to make something new.
