Promotion of ”Mom, what is war?” comic-book in Agarthi Comics!
Last night in Agarthi Comics comic store a new comic book promotion was held. ”Mom, what is war?” by the author Senad Mavrić. This is the second edition of this graphic novel published by Agarthi Comics as a part of their edition ”Biblioteka Bosančica”, in which the authors from Bosnia and Herzegovina are featured. The first edition was published by Buybook in 1999 and the interest for the second edition was pretty huge considering the number of people that went to the promotion.
The promotion was moderated by Duško Bašić (comic author), Emir Pašanović (founder of Drugi ugao) and Senad Mavrić (the author of ”Mom, what is war?” himself). It is quite strange that the topic of war in Sarajevo was covered by Joe Sacco (Fixer), Joe Kubert (Fax from Sarajevo) and Hermann Huppen (Sarajevo tango), all foreign comic authors, with Senad Mavrić being the only author from Sarajevo, that was living in here during the siege. As always, the sensitive topic of comic publishing was mentioned during the promotion, considering that the local comic-awareness is not at an acceptable level, graphic novel ”Mom, what is war?” managed to get a second edition.
Afterwards, you could grab yourself a copy and get a dedication from Senad. Second edition is published in Bosnian (price is 15KM, approx. 7,5 EUR) and English (20 KM, approx 10 EUR). In case you missed the promotion you can buy a copy in Agarthi Comics in Sarajevo or online, and any serious bookstore in the future days! We will post a review in the next few days, so be sure to drop by to check it out!
